Anna Belaya, Soprano

Ukrainian-born soprano Anna Belaya received recognition as a "soprano who possesses an extraordinary timbre of profound musicality…potent voice that clearly projects itself in a velvety ray of impeccable technique and deep resonance."

Anna Belaya made der debut with Opera de Tijuana as Micaela in Bizet's Carmen. Following her success with that company, she appeared in Mexico as Gianetta in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore in the co-production between Cultural Center of Tijuana CECUT and Bellas Artes in Mexico City, which received glowing reviews. In previous seasons, Ms Belaya's performance highlights have included Tatiana in Eugen Onegin with Kiev National Opera, Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly with the Marina del Rey Symphony, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Madame Lindoine in Les Dialogues des Carmelites, both Annina and Flora in La Traviata with Opera Studio at the Kiev Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

A regular on the concert and recital stage, Anna has appeared with the San Diego Symphony under the baton of Philip Mann; the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, singing the soprano solos in Mozart's
Requiem; the Dream Orchestra Orchestra of Los Angeles singing the soprano solos in Handel's Messiah; for Opera Buffs Incorporated Los Angeles for numerous concerts; the San Diego Grossmont Symphony Orchestra in Gorecky's Symphony no. 3; the Narni Festival Orchestra (Italy) as the soprano soloist in Pergolesi's Stabat Mater.

Ms Belaya has appeared numerous times as soloist with the Los Angeles Balalaika Orchestra and Firebird Quintet. The
News Ridgecrest review praised her for her "performance that's over the top with her sultry Garboesque good looks and an equally beautiful set of vocals." (12 December 2015)

Anna Belaya's celebrated technique and vocal color has won her numerous awards including a First Prize at theVirginia and Susan Hawk Competition in 2015 in San Diego, and a 3rd prize again at that same competition two years earlier. She was a Finalist and Audience Favorite in the SymphonyNet/ICadenza Competition and the Burbank Philharmonic Competition. She was also a finalist and received the Encouragement Award from the Musical Merit Foundation in San Diego. In Ukraine, Anna was a two-time recipient of the Laureate in the Ukrainian Competition-Festival in the category Art of Acting.

Ms Belaya is also known for her philanthropic donations, organizing concerts and providing funds for San Diego Opera and the Red Cross in Mexico.
